Celebrations take place this weekend in Plaza de la Virgen, Valencia, of an ancient rite, namely Corpus Christi. Giants and floats, some of them dating back several centuries will be part of a weekend of performance and procession. The momas will perform plays and there will be music too. Pictured here are images from the 2007 Corpus Celebrations in the Plaza. It is unlikely that this year you will see some of the 'ethnic' giants, as there is some argument between the Town Hall and the private owners of the giants over funding.
